JUSTICE FOR SELVA:
A week ago, 55-year-old Selvaraju Vellingiri of Cary, NC, set out for an innocuous walk in the afternoon. A short while later, his family received word that he had been mercilessly shot down by unknown assailant/s. His passing has caused immeasurable grief to everyone who knew his kind and quiet disposition. The community at large is grappling with the senselessness of this crime.
Selva was a caring husband, a doting father, and a good friend to many. Further, he was an active volunteer in the Cary community. While the police are scouring high and low to solve the crime, we, the family and friends of Selva, request you to join us in donating to a memorial fund that intends to honor Selva by adopting these three approaches to stop gun violence:
1) Prevention through education about strategic violence reduction, gun violence and related human rights abuse
2) Intervention through active advocacy for strict gun regulation
3) Financial help to people impacted by gun violence
Gun violence is an insidious epidemic that has taken control of this country with nearly 60,000 deaths, this year alone. Please help us keep the narrative of Selva’s life from becoming a mere statistic by actively volunteering your time, effort and money towards this noble cause.
